Scanning Pen - The C Pen Scanner

In addition to the IRISpen scanning pen, another popular brand is the C Pen (or C-Pen). Unlike many of the other makers of pen scanners, including Planon and IRISPen, C Pen produces one model of pen scanner. This model is designated the C-Pen 20.

The C-Pen 20 has most of the features that you have come to expect from a scanning pen if you are at all familiar with the family of technology. Using OCR technology, the C-Pen 20 scanning pen can scan text and directly deposit the text into nearly any open word processing or data entry program. This makes it very useful for everything from taking notes while studying to editing a printed document of which you do not have the soft copy. The C-Pen 20 scanning pen interfaces with the computer via USB 1.0 or 2.0, depending on your make of computer. In addition to 34 primary languages, the scanning pen recognizes 133 additional languages using a character recognition engine from ABBYY software.

For those reading challenging materials or looking for aid in reading comprehension, C Pen offers C Dictionary. C Dictionary is a computer application designed specifically for the C-Pen 20 scanning pen. C Dictionaryseamlessly integrates with the pen scanner making the software very easy to use. After scanning a word, the software brings up a definition and/or translation of the word. In addition to great integration with the scanning pen, the C Dictionary software also has a built-in flash card application for practicing words (great for students).

There are many brands of scanning pens out there. Sometimes, the number of models and variants produced by a single pen scanner manufacturer can confuse a user. Fortunately, C Pen makes it easier by providing all the basic features in a single model, the C-Pen 20. Buying a Pen Scanner

Now that you know which kind of pen scanner is right for you, it's time to think about actually purchasing one. When you are looking to buy a pen scanner, it is still important to look around at different places to find the deal that is right for you. Of course, this depends on what kind of pen scanner you are looking for. Let's start with the easy one.

If you are looking for an IRIS pen scanner, looking online is the best way to start. At the IRISPen website, pen scanners range from $129 for the IRISPen Express to $199 for the IRISPen Translator. This is about the average price you will find out there. If you are looking to buy a pen scanner at a cheaper price, you might want to consider amazon.com. Amazon not only has IRISPen scanners, but it also carries quite a good variety of pen scanners that sell for cheaper than the IRISPen. This will all depend on what you are looking for in a pen scanner. If amazon.com still does not have the price you are looking for, there are always options such as ebay and craigslist. Although there may not be a high demand for buying a pen scanner, some people will still sell these on ebay or even craigslist (if you want to take that chance). Through ebay and craigslist, you are buying a pen scanner from a person that may have used the product already and that is just a chance you might have to take to purchase a pen scanner at a decent price.

If there is a specific type of pen scanner that you are looking for and you can't find it on amazon.com or through ebay or craigslist, you might have to do some searching online. There are many websites out there that let you purchase a pen scanner. Nextag.com is a website out there that sells pen scanners at a fairly reasonable price. Most of the products they sell are technology related so they are quite popular for gadgets that are hard to find, like pen scanners. Prices through Nextag will range anywhere from $99-$140 for the same IRISPen scanner that we were exploring before. A similar site to Nextag where you can buy a pen scanner at a decent price is TigerDirect.com. TigerDirect will have very comparable prices to Nextag so you will want to make sure that the pen scanner you are going to buy is exactly what you are looking for.

When looking to buy a pen scanner, you have quite a few options available to ensure you will get a great price on one. It will just depend on the type of pen scanner you are looking for as well as the price you are willing to spend on one. From Amazon to TigerDirect, there will be a pen scanner out there that you can afford. For more information on pen scanner and their benefits, visit Everything Pen Scanner.
